The UW Bothell School of Business hosted its annual Mentorship EDGE Networking and Awards Celebration, a night of student achievement, professional generosity and the powerful connections that shape career journeys. The May 30th event brought together students, mentors, faculty, alumni and industry professionals to honor the transformative relationships formed through the Mentorship EDGE program.聽

The Mentorship EDGE experience empowers students to transform their lives and careers through personalized mentoring with exceptional business leaders. Through this structured, high-impact program, students are matched with experienced professionals who provide critical career mentorship sessions and ongoing professional guidance.
Over several months, students work one-on-one with their mentors to build clarity around their goals, develop networking and communication skills and gain insight into real-world business challenges. The program not only enhances career readiness 鈥 it cultivates confidence, leadership and a lifelong mindset of growth.聽
Recognizing Mentors of the Year
Two outstanding professionals were recognized as Mentors of the Year, nominated by students whose academic and professional journeys were deeply impacted by their mentorship.
Philip Drammeh, principal group technical program manager at Microsoft
Drammeh鈥檚 mentorship is marked by unwavering dedication, strategic insight and a deep belief in the potential of every student he supports. As a seasoned leader in the tech industry, Drammeh brings more than just career advice to his mentees 鈥 he brings a transformative approach grounded in thoughtful reflection and empowerment.

鈥淗e didn鈥檛 just give advice,鈥 said mentee Dawit Nuguse. 鈥淗e asked thoughtful questions that pushed me to think critically about my goals and strengths. His belief in me helped me believe more in myself.鈥
Drammeh鈥檚 ability to lead with empathy, show up consistently, and champion each student鈥檚 individual journey earned him high praise and heartfelt appreciation from mentees across the program.

Known for her consistency, warmth and intentional leadership, Boynton has made a profound impact on the students she mentors through the Mentorship EDGE program. Boynton鈥檚 approach is rooted in care, reflection and a sincere commitment to guiding others with integrity.聽聽
鈥淚鈥檝e never had a mentor as consistent, caring and committed as D鈥橪aina,鈥 mentee Helen Fessahaie said. 鈥淗er unwavering support and personal mentorship have made a lasting impact, and I sincerely hope she continues guiding others in the years to come.鈥
