Stuart Streichler presents on the fate of Guant谩namo detainees at the Law and Society Association
IAS faculty member Stuart Streichler delivered a paper on "Guant谩namo Detainees: A Decade of Rights without Remedy" at the annual meeting of the Law and Society Association held in . In this paper, Streichler examined the impact of a series of Supreme Court decisions handed down in the first decade of the war against terrorism. He argued that, contrary to what might have been expected from decisions which extended habeas corpus to all detainees at Guant谩namo, the net result has been to undermine the fundamental rights protected by this historic writ.
