UWave Radio awarded Cultural Equipment Program Grant from 4Culture
UWave Radio received a grant from 4Culture through the to support community access to FM radio at KUWU-LP 104.9FM. The application was authored by Media & Communication Studies student Jathiya Hilber, with support from other UW Bothell and Cascadia students. It reads: 鈥淯Wave Radio has successfully acquired a Low Power FM license to broadcast on the FM dial at 104.9 and is in the final stages of securing support for the tower and FM equipment. An LPFM license will make UWave Radio the only LPFM station within the north Seattle area and the only radio station specifically serving the city of Bothell.鈥� The award is for $5000.
