Becca Price and colleagues present at the 2020 UW Teaching & Learning Symposium鈥攁n event held online this year
IAS faculty member Becca Price and her colleagues presented a about their work in STEP-UP鈥擲cience Teaching Experience Program for Upcoming Ph.D.s. This program helps Ph.D. students at the UW in science fields learn how to teach, and it mentors them during their first teaching experience. Our program uses Design Based Research to identify the most successful components of our training; this approach allow us to continually improve what we do. Early data on the programs effectiveness show that participants are gaining high-quality teaching experience that suits the range of career goals that interest them.
