Kari Lerum, Ching-In Chen, & Alka Kurian present at National Women鈥檚 Studies Association

IAS had a presence at the in Baltimore, MD with presentations by faculty members Ching-In Chen, Kari Lerum, and Alka Kurian.
Ching-In Chen moderated a panel on 鈥淔eminist creativity as the backbone of resistance: The cases of Videography, Art, Writing, and Autoethnography.鈥 Kari Lerum presented on this same panel with her paper, 鈥淐ritical autoethnography as creative resistance.鈥 This panel was organized by IAS faculty member Julie Shayne; Dr. Shayne was not able to attend this meeting. Kari Lerum also served as moderator for an author-meets-critic panel, for the book, 鈥淎rchive of Tongues: An Intimate History of Brownness,鈥 by Moon Charania.
Alka Kurian moderated a panel on 鈥淐ollaborative Autoethnography of Radical and Resilient South Asian Sistahs.鈥 Dr. Kurian also presented in a roundtable on 鈥淔eminist voices against carceral Violence,鈥 鈥 The roundtable was a celebration and discussion of an edited volume which was birthed at the previous NWSA conference in Baltimore (2017).
