It honors a school nurse who demonstrates excellence in school nursing practice and leadership. Nurse Cavanaugh oversees 38 school district nurses at 33 schools with about 23,000 students in Bothell, Kenmore and Woodinville.

The University of Washington School of Nursing was ranked #1 among public schools that offer a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and was ranked #4 overall. Additionally, the School was ranked #4 among public schools that offer a Master’s degree and was ranked #12 overall."
